Abstract
With the aid of a Research Enhancement Grant, I traveled to Stanford University in Palo Alto, California in May 2005 and in November 2005 to the Cecil H. Green Library Archives to examine the large collection of papers of Harriet Doerr, whose experimental, award-winning novel Stones for Ibarra is structured by Wordsworthian “spots of time,” heightened moments of revelation. I
applied and received permission to use the papers of Doerr at the Green Library Archives, conducted the research at the library, transcribed her holographs (hand-written copies), and had photocopies made of additional material for later analysis. The two papers cited below were by-products of my Research Enhancement Grant, for I was able to provide support to the arguments with the archival research that I did at the Cecil H. Green Library Archives. The ultimate goal of the project is to publish the results of my research.
