Abstract
This thesis examines a fatherĀ¹s experiences in Afghanistan, observations of village life, children at play, the role of women, the Afghan army, and life as a soldier to contrast with dominant images of violence. Using my fatherĀ¹s personal journal, I will explore his awareness of Afghanistan.
