dc.description.abstractGenetic testing is increasingly popular with estimates that over 7 million (M) people in the United States and 28M worldwide have purchased kits to complete testing. While most individuals use genetic testing for non-health reasons, such as for ancestral information, others use it to make healthcare decisions. This study uses the Health Belief Model (HBM) to identify factors individuals use when deciding to conduct genetic testing.
