Electronic control systems can play a large role in enhancing the efficiency of a photovoltaic system. Furthermore, the use of appropriate electrical techniques enables solar generated electricity to work in battery systems or to be integrated into a power grid that may power a home or business. Aside from improving the quality of the solar panels themselves and the materials they require, power electronics can provide another means of improving energy efficiency in photovoltaic systems. My research focuses on these specific applications of power electronics in solar energy applications.
