dc.description.abstract | The Visual Resources Association recently released two new metadata standards for the cultural heritage community, VRA Core 4.0 and 'Cataloging Cultural Objects' (CCO). Core 4.0 is a set of metadata elements and XML encoding structure (similar to MARCXML), whereas CCO is a data content standard (similar to AACR and 'Describing Archives: A Content Standard' [DACS]). This workshop provided a general overview of these standards and demonstrated how they differ in their approach to cataloging a cultural object. | |
