dc.description.abstract | This is a full-length play that had its first reading in Texas State University’s Playwright’s Lab in the fall of 2015. In it, Sara and Sam are looking for their place in the world. Sara chooses not to be identified, to be her own free spirit, but that’s not getting her anywhere. Sam jumps from bed, to bush, to tent with strangers seeking pleasure. Each character must ask themselves, “Does the structural framework I have been using suit me? How can I be happier?” Along the way, Sara and Sam are helped by idiosyncratic and offbeat neighbors, lovers, and new friends. | |
