| dc.description.abstract | Purpose: The purpose of this research is to develop an ideal model for managers/directors on how to effectively manage nonprofit organizations. In particular, research will be done on organizations that deliver social services to the public. This research is based on the conceptual framework of five components: developing exemplary leadership, integrating nonprofit management techniques, building a structured system, forming an organization that connects to the community, and implementing strategic planning. Methods: After electronic survey data is collected, the components of the ideal model are refined. The survey was sent to 100 nonprofit directors and/ or managers in Texas, including in major cities. Responses were received from 28 participants. Findings: A descriptive analysis of the returned data shows the opinions and insights of nonprofit leaders on what they "should" be doing to run their organizations effectively. The survey research provides a basis for creating an ideal model. Conclusion: The research has established a basis for creating a practical ideal model for nonprofit directors to run organizations that deliver social services. | |
