dc.description.abstractThe objective of the problem was to survey recent literature for all mu-bridged compounds and to determine the unit cell dimensions of several platinum complexes. The literature survey was done using the subject indices of Chemical Abstracts for the last ten years. Each compound was recorded for future reference. A more detailed examination of the reported platinum complexes involved the structural determination and method of preparation of each compound. The experimental part of the problem employed an X-ray source and Weissenberg camera to obtain photographs of single crystals. From these photographs, data were taken and the unit cell dimensions calculated using an University of Arkansas program which was modified for the IBM 1130 computer at Southwest Texas State University.
