dc.description.abstractThis thesis examines the current interpretation of Louisiana plantations, analyzes the problems tracing them back to literature, and provides solutions to reinterpret plantation interpretation. Plantation sites need to anchor their interpretation into the community to allow visitors to understand the economic, social and political functions of the plantation system.
