dc.description.abstractThe research problem is as follows: More information is needed about recidivism rates of male and female sex offenders for the purpose of establishing appropriate criminal justice sanctions, treatment plans, and prevention of further sexual abuse. The completed project will assess 471 women and 942 men who were registered as sex offenders (in Texas) as of April, 2001 and assess re-arrest rates for these female and male sex offenders during the 6 to 8 year period after their initial sex offense.
