dc.description.abstract | This powerpoint presentation looks at the intersection of public administration with the women's peace and suffrage movements. It uses the contributions of Mary Livermore and Jane Addams as a way to capture these movements and their impact. It begins with an examination of women's role in relief supply arm of the US Sanitary Commission and moves to the Settlement movement. Supporting these movements were thousands of ladies clubs and aid societies. The early 20th century peace movement and the Women's Peace Movement during World War I are incorporated into the discussion. | |
