In June 2009, Stakeholders from the communities in the Cypress Creek watershed, with the assistance of The Meadows Center for Water and the Environment at Texas State University (MCWE), formed the Cypress Creek Stakeholder Committee which sought to develop a management strategy to keep Cypress Creek clean, clear, and flowing. This committee developed the Cypress Creek Watershed Protection Plan (CCWPP) which describes best management practices (BMPs) and other actions to attain, maintain, and ultimately improve water quality in the creek and its tributaries.
