dc.description.abstractThe 2010 mid-term elections resulted in the change of control in the United States House of Representatives, and a closer partisan breakdown in the membership of the United States Senate. This thesis examines the scholarly literature regarding congressional elections, and analyzes the reasons for the large number of losses for the Democratic Party in 2010.
