Abstract
Military personnel deployed to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan have transitioned out of the military back to communities searching for their next mission.
Approximately one-third are pursuing degrees in higher education institutions using educational benefits, pursuing degrees, and new career paths.
Little is known about the campus level needs of this student Veteran population.
Studies of this population are often less rigorous and limited by sample size.
Our current study fills this gap by examining data for a holistic understanding of student Veterans enrolled at TXST.
Development of the needs assessment survey, outreach performed to recruit student Veteran participants, and highlights from survey findings and implications for program development on campus are discussed.
