Abstract

The purpose of this project is to compare the current research available regarding the effects of polyunsaturated fatty acids/omega-3 supplementation (PUFAs) on ADHD symptoms in children. The conceptual framework that guided this systematic review was the Neuman’s Systems Model (Petiprin, 2020). Neuman’s System Model is a strong guide to develop nursing knowledge because it encompasses looking at the entire person, in addition to their interactions within their environment and other people. All people are complex individuals and treatment considerations should be made toward their unique multidimensional qualities, including taking into account individual family preferences for treatment.
