dc.description.abstractThis lecture was given at the PhD Summit of the Annual Conference of the American Society of Public Administration (ASPA). It focused on what it means to get a paper published in a respectable journal in the middle of the JCI list. First the process of submission is briefly reviewed. Second, the editors perspective is presented. Professor Shields has edited a journal in the middle of the Political Science and Sociology JCI list (Armed Forces & Society since 2001. She gives tips based on this experience.
